Jessica Hemmelgarn, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Diley Hill and MedVet New Albany, where she has been part of the team since 2026.
Dr. Hemmelgarn attended Ohio University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Although she enjoys all aspects of emergency veterinary medicine, Dr. Hemmelgarn is especially passionate about supporting the human-animal bond and helping pets maintain the best possible quality of life. She values the opportunity to guide families through challenging situations with compassion, clear communication, and thoughtful medical care. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is partnering with pet owners to help them enjoy as much meaningful time as possible with their beloved companions.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Jessica Hemmelgarn enjoys training and competing in a variety of dog sports, including agility, barn hunt, disc, and flyball. She also enjoys a good romantic comedy and spending time with her family, including her cat and two dogs.
