Gabriela Rubi Velez, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Austin.
Dr. Rubi Velez attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in global health. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in the West Indies. Dr. Rubi Velez is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist through Chi University.
Although she enjoys all aspects of emergency veterinary medicine, Dr. Rubi Velez is passionate about caring for animals while supporting the people who love them. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is building relationships with pet families and providing compassionate care that helps pets live happy, healthy lives. She considers it an honor to be trusted with a pet’s wellbeing and strives to give every patient the attention and care they deserve.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Gabriela Rubi Velez enjoys connecting with nature through hiking, paddleboarding, long trail walks, and exploring new places. She also enjoys discovering new restaurants and trying different foods.
