Shelby Bascle, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Mandeville and MedVet New Orleans.
Dr. Bascle attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a pre-professional concentration. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, LA. During veterinary school, she was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor Society Tau Chapter.
Although she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Bascle has a particular interest in Emergency and Critical Care. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is working through the diagnostic process to determine the cause of a pet’s illness and begin treatment that helps them feel better. She finds it especially rewarding to help patients take the first steps toward recovery and provide relief when they need it most.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Shelby Bascle enjoys exploring the outdoors with her partner, playing video games on her Nintendo Switch, and relaxing with a good book. She also enjoys spending time with her orange cat, Sunshine.
