Dervla Doherty, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Salt Lake City, where she has been part of the team since 2026.
Dr. Doherty attended the University of Delaware, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary and animal biosciences with honors. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Although she enjoys all aspects of emergency veterinary medicine, Dr. Doherty has particular interests in emergency medicine and improving access to veterinary care. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is building relationships with pet families through clear communication and helping ensure pets receive the care they need. She especially enjoys receiving updates on her patients and seeing them maintain a good quality of life alongside the people who love them.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Dervla Doherty enjoys hiking, reading, and skiing.
